An outbreak of Covid-19 at the Monterey County Jail in Salinas grew significantly Friday.

An outbreak of Covid-19 at the Monterey County Jail in Salinas grew significantly Friday.61 more inmates have now tested positive for Coronavirus.On Thursday, the jail confirmed 6 inmates were infected.Most of the 67 inmates were housed in the same unit of the jail.The Monterey County Sheriff's Office also announced Friday that one deputy working at the jail tested positive for Covid-19.Commander John Thornburg with the sheriff's office tells KSBW Action News 8 that the jail is being sanitized and that every inmate will be tested for Covid-19.They also have a doctor on scene around the clock and are working closely with the Monterey County Health Department to address the outbreak.700 inmates are currently housed at the Monterey County Jail,
