It's almost here!

On Tuesday, Swensons announced that their newest location in Willoughby will officially open on Monday, July 19. The grand opening will be preceded by a week of pre-opening events and fundraisers. Follow @swensonsdrivein for updates on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.

Swensons in Willoughby is located on 34725 Euclid Avenue. It will be open from 11 a.m. – 1 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. – 1:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

Founded in 1934 by Buchtel High School grad Wesley T. "Pop" Swenson, the popular burger chain was solely an Akron area staple for decades before finally expanding to Stark and Cuyahoga counties in 2001. In recent years, stores have been popping up all over Ohio, including five around Columbus and others more locally in University Heights, North Olmsted, and Avon.

Swensons is best known for its Galley Boy burgers, complete with two special sauces on a toasted bun topped off with a green olive. The selection is a favorite of NBA legend and Akron native LeBron James, who has helped raise the drive-in's profile during his career.

"I get a double cheeseburger, and onion rings," James previously revealed during an interview at the I PROMISE School in Akron. "And then I get a banana milkshake with real ice cream. I have a nice little feast."

But did you know Swensons also has a secret menu? We have details of the special food options HERE.
