Darlene Offermann, 80, Sheldon, ND died on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Sanford Health on Broadway in Fargo, ND.

Darlene Ruth Nelson was born August 25, 1936 at Alpena, SD to Albert and Eunice (Colwell) Nelson. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Alpena High School. Darlene met Robert Offermann while he was on leave from the US Army. They were married on September 12th, 1954 at Alpena in a double wedding ceremony with Darlene's sister Shirley and Bill Botts. After the wedding Bob and Darlene moved to the Offermann farm near Sheldon. Bob and Darlene's marriage was blessed with four children: Robert Jr., twins Debbie and Diane, and Bradley.

Darlene's greatest pride was her family. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and the neighborhood children and especially reading them storybooks. She also loved gardening, embroidery, playing cards and cooking. No one ever left her home hungry. She was active in her church including serving on the Altar society and teaching Sunday school for 30 years. She was also a member of the Highland Homemakers Club for over 50 years.

She is survived by four children: Robert Jr. (Jackie) of Idaho Falls, ID, Debbie (Lloyd) Waldahl of Amenia, ND, Diane (Jeff) Huss of Staunton, VA, and Bradley (Karla) Offermann of Fargo; seven grandchildren: Dustin (Lien-Shin) Offermann, Barrett Offermann, Teresa (Brady) Duffy, Tara (Lindsay) Skavlem, Jacob Huss, Alex Huss, Molly Huss; five great grandchildren, Katja and Natasha Offermann, Grace, Hannah and Benjamin Duffy; two sisters, Marlene (Ron) Frager, Betty (Loren) Wilson; brother-in-law, Pete Thompson; sister-in-law, Shirley Offermann; and many nieces and nephews.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob in 2009; and 7 siblings, Marietta, Albert, Roy, Shirley, Lloyd, Floyd and Robert.

Visitation: Friday, July 28, 2017 from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at Our Lady of Scapular Catholic Church, Sheldon.

Funeral Mass: Saturday at 1 PM at Our Lady of Scapular Catholic Church, Sheldon with visitation one hour prior.

Burial: St. Mary's Cemetery, Sheldon.
