Darien Resident Named Treasurer Of Connecticut Society Of CPAs

DARIEN, CT — Darien resident and Certified Public Accountant Timothy Hedley, a retired Partner with KPMG in Stamford, has been elected treasurer of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants Board of Directors for 2020-2021, the group announced. CTCPA recently elected and installed its Board of Directors for the 2020-2021 activity year.

The new board and officers are as follows:

President – Marie L. Benedetto, CPA of Middlefield

Ms. Benedetto is the owner of Innovative Business Solutions in Middlefield, a business advisory practice serving privately held companies. She holds an M.S. in Taxation from the University of Hartford and a B.S. in Accounting from Central Connecticut State University. Ms. Benedetto has served CTCPA as Treasurer, a Board of Directors member-at-large, an Advisory Council member-at-large, Golf Tournament Committee co-chair, and as an Educational Trust Fund Review Task Force member. She also served as a co-facilitator of the CPA society’s recent comprehensive Strategic Planning Initiative.

President-elect – Brian P. Reilly, CPA of Cromwell

Mr. Reilly is Senior Vice President and Chief Auditor for Travelers in Hartford. Prior to Travelers, he was a Partner at Arthur Andersen. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Connecticut. Mr. Reilly has served CTCPA as a member-at-large of its Advisory Council and a member of its Investment Committee.

Treasurer – Timothy Hedley, CPA, Ph.D. of Darien

Dr. Hedley is an Adjunct Faculty Member at Fordham University and a retired Partner with KPMG in Stamford. He is chair of the CTCPA Membership Committee. He holds a B.B.A. from Sienna College and an M.S. and a Ph.D. from the State University of New York at Albany.

Secretary – Michael Maksymiw Jr., CPA, CGMA of Plainville

Mr. Maksymiw is a Partner with Marcum LLP in West Hartford. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Bryant University and a M.S. in Accounting from the University of Connecticut. He has served the CTCPA as chair of the Advisory Council, a member-at-large of the Board of Directors, a member of the New and Young Professionals Cabinet, and a member of the Strategic Planning Committee.

Advisory Council Chair – Amber Moore, CPA of Bozrah

Ms. Moore is a Manager at Goldblatt Bokoff, LLC in Norwich. She holds a B.S. in Accounting and an M.S. in Accounting from the University of Connecticut. She has served the CTCPA as a member of the Advisory Council, State Taxation Committee, Federal Taxation Committee, New and Young Professionals Group, Southeastern Connecticut Chapter, and Technology Committee.

Member-at-Large – Katherine M. Patnaude, CPA of Wethersfield

Ms. Patnaude is a Senior Manager with PKF O’Connor Davies, LLP in Wethersfield. She holds a B.S. in Accounting from Eastern Connecticut State University and an M.S. in Accounting from the University of Connecticut. She has served the CTCPA as chair of the Governmental Accounting and Auditing Committee and Accounting Scholarship Foundation, as well as a member of the Advisory Council, Audit Committee, and New and Young Professionals Cabinet.

Member-at-Large – Katherine Donovan, CPA of Bloomfield

Ms. Donovan is an Assurance Manager with Whittlesey in Hartford. She holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Connecticut and an M.S. in Accounting & Taxation from the University of Hartford. She has served the CTCPA as chair of the New and Young Professionals Cabinet and a member of the Advisory Council.

With a membership of more than 6,000 in public practice, business and industry, government, and education, the CTCPA’s mission is to advocate on behalf of the accounting profession, foster a professional community among CPAs, and provide professional development opportunities for CPAs in Connecticut.
