Are you passionate about providing help to those who are in the midst of a life crisis, in of need of encouragement and empowerment, emotional and spiritual healing, spiritual therapy or looking for spiritual growth? If so, read about our current volunteer opportunities below to learn how you can help.
Our startup nonprofit organization, Awaken Renewed Health & Wellness Retreat an integrative medical and stress therapy retreat organization, has been planning for the past 4 months to begin full service operations by the expected date of June 6, 2022. Our services will be offered to those suffering from complex chronic illness and to those struggling to cope with stress. We are also teaming up with our affiliates, Woman At the Well Ministries, Inc. and Eagles Christian Ministries to offer their services to our visitors in the areas of emotional healing, support, encouragement, spiritual restoration and spiritual growth.
Awaken Renewed Health & Wellness Retreat’s Affiliates are currently looking for volunteers who are interested in donating some of their time to assist us with the following:
- Video editing for our recorded services (2 positions)
Time Commitment (negotiable and subject to change based on volunteer availability):
The volunteers who take advantage of any of our volunteer opportunities will be in a position to grow with us and move into applicable paid positions as paid employees or long-term contractors once we move closer to our expected date to begin operations in June 2022. You will need to be located in or within driving distance of the Lithonia, Georgia area.

Mission Statement
Awaken Renewed Health & Wellness Retreat is an East Atlanta, Georgia based non-profit organization that was founded in 2021. We are dedicated to provide a variety of integrative medical and stress therapy services in a therapeutic, supportive, welcoming, judgement-free environment and with an off-the-gird, nature-filled, vacation-like retreat experience for an overnight stay for 7 days or more at our Main location or for a 1 day or more visit at our Annex location. Our integrative medical and stress therapy services combined with the in-person and life-long camaraderie that will be developed between our customers and employees with relatable life experiences provides a comfortable place to express themselves.
Description
Our organization’s cause was inspired by the personal experience of the organization’s first founder, Deborah Ilevbare, who has been living with multiple invisible, rare and misunderstood complex chronic illnesses and the resulting stress, which had a life-changing and debilitating impact on not only on her life, but on the lives of the people who know her. Also, the personal experiences of the rest of the founding team who have been living with stress resulting from postmortem, workplace burnout, active duty/veteran related, domestic violence, neighborhood harassment and abuse, and other sources of stress have been an inspiration for the creation of this organization. The following is a list of some of the milestones that we were able to achieve to date: 1. Begun ongoing planning to identify service offerings, organizational structure and market opportunity on January 11, 2021. 2. Filed the comprehensive 501c3 application with the Internal Revenue Service on March 31, 2021. 3. Begun fundraising activities.
Our near future goals is to build out a detail service model with the help of experience healthcare managers or healthcare administrators, continue fundraising and connect with volunteers that share the same passion for this cause.
