GERMANTOWN, MD — A man accused of stealing money from a Germantown restaurant was caught on surveillance video, which Montgomery County police have released in hopes that the public can help identify him.

Authorities say Mi Rancho, located at 19725 Germantown Rd., was burglarized around 12:40 p.m. on Jan. 5. Upon further investigation, detectives determined that the suspected burglar had spoken to restaurant employees before sneaking off and stealing cash.

"Employees were working in the front of the restaurant when the suspect entered the business and engaged the employees in a conversation," police said in a statement. "The suspect then left and the employees went to the rear of the restaurant."
