Two Marylanders are $50,000 richer after the Jan. 13 Powerball drawing. The winning tickets were purchased in Germantown and Belcamp.No one scored the grand prize of $550 million on Wednesday night's Powerball drawing, bringing the jackpot to $640 million on Saturday. However, Maryland did have 64,996 winning tickets ranging from $4 to $50,000.The $640 million jackpot for the Saturday has a cash option of $478.7 million. If won, this would be the fifth-largest jackpot in Powerball history and ninth-largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history. This is the highest the Powerball jackpot has been since March 2019.The Maryland Lottery is looking for our lucky players who bought $50,000-winning tickets at Riverside Sunoco at 1319 Riverside Parkway in Belcamp and at Town Center Sunoco located at 19738 Germantown Road in Germantown. The winning numbers in the Jan. 13 drawing were 4, 19, 23, 25 and 49; the Powerball was 14 and the Power Play multiplier x2.Lottery officials encourage all winners to sign the backs of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe location. Winners typically get 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim prizes. However, the Lottery has temporarily extended claiming deadlines due to Maryland’s COVID-19 state of emergency.The $50,000 winners can claim their prizes by mail or in person by appointment at the Lottery headquarters’ Customer Resource Center located at 1800 Washington Blvd. in Baltimore. Winners of smaller prizes can claim them by mail, at Lottery retailers, at casinos or by appointment at Lottery headquarters.
