Katherine Light
Katherine Mathis Light, 78, of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at her home.
Katherine was born in Piedmont, Al., but had lived in Chattanooga most of her life. She was a daughter of the late, Tom and Martha L. Mathis. She was retired as executive secretary of Winer & Associates.
Katherine was preceded in death by three sisters, Lona Mae Boling, Josephine Lind and Lois Smith and two brothers, Ollie Brown, Tommy S. Mathis and great granddaughter, Finley Grace Rogers.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Light; son, Scott (Carol) Hawkins, Geraldine, Al., granddaughter, Jade (Ryan) Rogers, great-grandson, Rook Rogers, all of Scottsboro; son, Rick (Terrye) Hawkins, Naples, Florida; daughters, Kimberly (Wayne) Eddingfield, Ringgold; Terry (Steve) Roberts and Kathy (Randy) Sain, both of Chattanooga; sister, Bobbie M. (Ed) Fitch, two brothers, Bill Brown and C.D.(Mary) Mathis, all of Chattanooga; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Pat McKenna officiating. Interment will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park with nephews, Tommy Mathis, John Bennudriti, Jimmy Mathis, Eddie Fitch Jonathan Fitch and Waymon Brown serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 4–7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14, at the funeral home.
