CONNECTICUT — The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Connecticut increased by 446 to 40,468 over the past 24 hours and the number of COVID-19 related deaths increased by 18 to 3,693, according to the state Department of Public Health.
And once again the number of hospitalizations decreased, this time by another 23. The current number of hospitalizations is at 701. A total of 214,000 people have been tested thus far.
Over the past 24 hours, Hartford County saw a decline of 15 hospitalizations, New Haven County 11, and New London County three, while Tolland, Litchfield and Windham saw no change. Fairfield County saw an increase of five hospitalizations and Middlesex County had an increase of one.

The age group with the most positive cases is 50 to 59, 7,027 cases; followed by 80 and older with 6,100 cases; then 60 to 69 with 5,916 cases; then 40 to 49 with 5,723 cases; then 30 to 39 with 5,636 cases; then 20 to 29 with 4,532 cases; then 70 to 79 with 3,961 cases; then 10 to 19 with 992 cases; and then 0 to 9 with 446 cases.
Concerning the 3,693 reported deaths in Connecticut people over the age 80 account for 2,200 deaths; 800 between 70 and 79; 461 between 60 and 69; 155 between 50 and 59; 51 between 40 and 49; 19 between 30 and 39; and no data was available between zero and 29 years of age.
