WALLINGFORD, CT — Wallingford native Cathy Inglese is “fighting for her life” after suffering a traumatic brain injury during a fall Wednesday, according to multiple reports. Inglese was recently hired as the associate head women’s basketball coach at Hofstra.

Inglese, 60, won a state title as a junior at Sheehan High School in 1976 and was inducted into Connecticut Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 1996, according to Jim Fuller of the New Haven Register. She was the head coach of the women’s basketball team at Boston College from 1993 to 2008.

Former Boston College player Ayla Brown wrote in a post on Twitter Wednesday night that Inglese “has fallen and suffered a traumatic brain injury. She’s going in for her second surgery and doctors are doing all that they can. Please pray for her.”
