LORAIN, OH — The new ClubSmart Learning Centers for kids will take part in the Connect to a Cause Day on Sept. 17.

The Community Foundation's Connect to a Cause crowdfunding event benefits Lorain County nonprofits. The 12-hour online fundraiser allows donations to go directly to indicated nonprofits.

The ClubSmart Learning Centers offer in-person education help for kids in remote-only schools. There are centers in Lorain, Elyria, Oberlin and Vermillion. The centers are operated by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio. During the fundraiser, donations can be directed to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio to support the Learning Centers.

“The Community Foundation of Lorain County has been a wonderful partner and has helped make this county a better place. By setting aside this day, the foundation is shining a light on our Clubs and on the other excellent nonprofits in our community. In our case, the chance to support our ClubSmart Learning Centers is a tremendous opportunity to help the kids who need us most," said Mike Conibear, BGCNEO’s Lorain County regional director.

In addition to any money raised on Sept. 17, the Community Foundation of Lorain County will also split $40,000 among participating nonprofits.
