ELIJAH, Ga. -- Top-seeded LaFayette High School and defending AAA state duals champ Gilmer County wrestle here in this mornings’ championship semifinals of the Georgia 7AAA Region Duals tournament.
Semis matches are Lafayette against unseeded Pickens County, while No.2 Gilmer County meets No.3 Heritage.
Championship finals are scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
With the top two advancing to next week’s state duals in Macon, a true runner-up will be determined.
If the loser of the championship finals has already beaten the consolations champ, then the two championship finals teams will advance. Otherwise a match for second will be wrestled at 2 p.m..
Biggest Surprise: Unseeded Pickens County has knocked off No. 5 S.E. Whitfield and No. 4 Allatoona to reach the semis against No.1 LaFayette.
