Jack Whitehall dislocates a rib while trying to compete with Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson in the gym

Training alongside The Rock isn't going to be an easy feat for anyone, but comedian Jack Whitehall took on that mission.

Sadly, he lost, and has ended up with a dislocated rib for his troubles.

Whitehall is set to star in upcoming film Jungle Cruise with Dwayne Johnson, which started filming in May, and the pair have been hitting the gym to prepare.

Writing on his Instagram, Whitehall revealed he'd had to go to hospital in Hawaii following his workout.

"So billy big bollocks @therock is in his gym pumping copious amounts of Iron for fun. I pop on an exercise bike for twenty minutes and end up in hospital with a dislocated rib," he said.

The 29-year-old then revealed it was the lure of a Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler romcom that caused the injury, adding: "Doctor asked if I was in an unnatural position.

"Indeed – the TV monitor had the movie 50 First Dates on and I was craning forward to read the subtitles.

"X-Ray, two shots, trip to a chiropractor and a sports massage later and it looks like I will survive."

Glad to hear he's on the mend.

Currently not much is known about Jungle Cruise, other than it being a Disney venture based on one of its popular theme park rides.

Whitehall stars alongside Johnson, and is playing Emily Blunt's character's brother in a role that's said to be key to the movie's plot.
