The days of frantically searching the house for a missing pair of reading glasses could soon be over.
A company has unveiled a “tunable” pair that can change their strength at the turn of a dial, based on what the wearer is using them for.
Voy, an American company, describes them as “nano-precision glasses” that enables users to adjust focus in seconds for different activities, from reading to driving, with a dial embedded in the handle of the spectacles.
The glasses move from a range of -5 for the short-sighted to +2 for long-sighted activities.
They are based on technology developed by Luis Walter Alvarez, the Nobel prize-winning physicist, in the 1960s, which relies on two polycarbonate plates on each side which slide across each
