ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — Two Emergency Medical Technicians from the Alameda County Fire Department have been deployed to the Central Valley to provide a respite for exhausted hospital staff at Adventist Health, a hospital in Lodi.

Adventist Health describes itself as an acute-care hospital with 190 beds. It serves five counties including San Joaquin, Calaveras, Amador, Solano, and Sacramento.

The Central Valley has been especially hard-hit by coronavirus, with COVID-19 patients sending the intensive care unit capacity to zero percent.
