Hammer Used On Jewelry Store Window, 2 Charged: Cops

Two Homewood residents are accused of burglary after a hammer was used on the front window of Van Simpa's Jewelry.

HOMEWOOD, IL - A man and woman from Homewood are facing burglary charges after police say they are responsible for a hammer that was used to strike a window of a jewelry shop in the village's downtown.

Homewood police charged Michael Huffer, 33, of the 17700 block of Dixie Highway and Brenna Needles, 31, of the 3000 block of Hedgerow Lane with burglary in connection to an incident reported at 4:09 a.m. on Aug. 11 at Van Simpa's Jewelry.

Huffer is accused of using the hammer to strike a window at the front of the business at 2011 Ridge Road while being directed by Needles to do so.
