Alexis Khazzam on AppsCo Rise Up Event

Alexis Khazzam shares the latest information on the fundraising event for a local Peoria, IL not-for-profit organization.

Alexis Khazzam and the team at AppsCo in Peoria, IL. invite the community to join them in empowering the youth to reach their highest professional goals. You’ll be able to join AppsCo on September 19th, at the Venue Chisca for a fundraising event: Rise Up. All proceeds gathered throughout the evening will go directly to students attending Peoria High Schools. Khazzam, will speak at the event about encouraging and empowering the youth in the community.

The Schedule for the event includes:

  • 5:30 – 7:00 PM: Cocktails & Hor D’oeuvres
  • 7:00 – 8:30 PM: Dinner & Presentation
  • 8:30 – 10:30 PM: Dana Kamide Band (from Winter Park, Florida

All funds that are raised stay in the community and have a direct impact in classrooms across Peoria High Schools. Funds will be used to help with:

  • Continued curriculum development to increase the number of classrooms at Richwoods and Manual and to impact more students per year.
  • Integrating AppsCo into Peoria High School for the 2020 school year.
  • Paid internships for AppsCo student interns.
  • Increasing student opportunities outside AppsCo by developing the “Hire AppsCo” internship program.
  • Paying teachers, teacher mentors, and curriculum advisor to maintain program quality.
  • Partnerships with other tri-county school districts.

Over the past four years, AppsCo has grown from a program of 15 students in one school, to 80 students each year at both Richwoods and Manual. Thanks to donations to date our young scholars have also had the opportunity to gain real-world professional experience through collaborative efforts on the following projects:
