TONI: A MAN ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH A 35-YEAR-OLD MURDER CASE IS IN COURT. MICHAEL GREEN WAS ARRESTED IN ROSEVILLE LAST WEEK. HE HAS BEEN TRANSFERRED FROM THE PLACER COUNTY JAIL TO EL DORADO COUNTY. GREEN IS ACCUSED OF KILLING A 54-YEAR-OLD WOMAN IN HER HOME IN 1985. 3 arrested in connection with Valentine's Day slaying in Modesto
Three people have been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting of a man on Valentine's Day in Modesto, police said Tuesday. Armando Suarez, 26, of Modesto, and Bryant Ramirez, 19, of Ceres, were arrested on suspicion of murder, robbery and conspiracy. Edgar Ramirez, 24, of Ceres, was arrested on charges of arson, accessory to murder and conspiracy, according to a news release from the Modesto Police Department. The trio was arrested after Joel Vasquez-Barragan, 25, of Modesto, was found shot in a roadway near the intersection of South Conejo Avenue and Oregon Drive around 11 p.m. on Feb. 14.Vasquez-Barragan had been shot multiple times and died at the scene, police said. Detectives followed up on leads and collected evidence that identified the suspects in Vasquez-Barragan's killing. Search warrants were served at two Ceres homes Monday and the three men were arrested. Police have not disclosed a possible motive for the man's killing.
