COMMUNITY BRIEFS

Sweet Rolled Tacos, 157 S. Rio Grande St., will hold a grand opening celebration at its location at The Gateway on Friday, Dec. 6, from 6-11:30 p.m. The celebration will include a photo booth and a performance at 7 p.m. by professional MMA fighter and fire knife dancer Bobby King. Sweet Rolled Tacos will serve hand-rolled ice cream in waffle taco shells, as well as specialty drinks and milkshakes, such as boba tea, Vietnamese iced coffee and special vegan offerings, according to a news release. Regular hours of operation will be Monday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 8 p.m.

The Salt Lake City Arts Council is accepting applications for performers for the Brown Bag Concert Series, which will take place in January and February 2020. The series will take place in a variety of small businesses in Salt Lake City, such as coffee shops, restaurants and bars. All music genres and ages are eligible to apply. Applicants must be 21 or older to perform in alcohol-based venues. Applications will be accepted through Dec. 13. For more information and to submit an application, visit saltlakearts.org.

Brigham City Fine Arts Center, 58 S. 100 West, Brigham City, will host auditions for the teen theater production of “Luann” on Dec. 9-10 from 6-8 p.m. The cast calls for boys and girls ages 13 and up. Pioneer Theatre Company, 300 S. 1400  East, will host auditions for “A**” on Friday, Dec. 13. Auditions for Actors’ Equity Association members will be 10-11 a.m., followed by general auditions until noon. Auditioners can sign up in room 325 at Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre starting at 9 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 6. All roles are available. It is recommended that auditioners bring a resume and headshot. Audition slots are three minutes. Sides will be provided at sign-up. Callbacks will be by invitation only on Saturday, Dec. 14.
