HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - The Texas State Fire Marshal’s Office is being called in to help investigate a late-night fire at an East Texas manufacturing plant.

Around 10 p.m. Wednesday, Athens fire crews responded to reports of flames at Dallas Manufacturing. The plant is on Athens Brick Road.

According to Athens Fire Marshal Lance West, the blaze started in the shipping area and took about 10 minutes to contain.

West said pet beds were on fire when they arrived. Dallas Manufacturing is known for making this product, among other things.

Assisting Athens Fire Department was Brownsboro VFD and Murchison VFD.

According to West, the night crew was in the building when the fire started, but no one was injured.

Officials did not say what may have started the blaze.

The company has seen at least three fires over the last 15 months. The first was on January 15, 2019. The second sparked on November 14, 2019.

Due to the previous fires, West told our reporter at the scene they will be calling the State Fire Marshal’s Office to assist with the investigation.
