Downers Grove Coronavirus Update: 7 Percent Increase In Past Week

As of press time, there have been 715 confirmed coronavirus cases in Downers Grove.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — The number of coronavirus cases in Downers Grove has increased by 7 percent in the past week, according to information from the DuPage County Health Department (DCHD).

As of Sept. 23, the village had reported 666 total cases of the new coronavirus. Those numbers had increased to 715 as of Sept. 30.

In nearby Westmont, the number of coronavirus cases had increased by 3 percent. As of Sept. 23, there had been 555 cases reported in Westmont. The total number of cases reported in Westmont as of Sept. 30 was 572.

According to the DCHD website, there were 5 active coronavirus cases in Downers Grove as of Sept. 30. In contrast, there were no active cases in Downers Grove on Sept. 23. According to county health officials, these numbers could be "much higher" due to unreported cases.
