Canal Street crash

Brattleboro police responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Canal and Birge streets Wednesday afternoon. There were no injuries reported in the crash, which is under investigation.

Oct. 6At about 9:30 p.m., troopers from New Hampshire State Police conducted a traffic stop on Route 12 in Swanzy, N.H. As a result, Sean Haskins, 36, of Brattleboro, was arrested for DUI 2nd, driving after revocation/suspension, open container, yellow/solid line violation, and driving without giving proof.

Vermont State Police Westminster Barracks is seeking the public’s assistance in obtaining information leading to the identity of the individual(s) responsible for a hit and run crash that occurred on the evening of Saturday, Oct. 17, leaving Deborah Ayers, 65, of West Wardsboro, hospitalized in critical condition. The crash occurred on Stratton Arlington Road, in West Wardsboro, between 7 and 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 17. During a community event near the crash scene on Sunday, Troopers spoke with motorists and handed out flyers requesting anyone with information to contact the Westminster Barracks at 802-722-4600. Oct. 19At about 10:15 p.m., Vermont State Police received a call from a woman who advised that she had a male on camera going through her vehicle and then leaving, on Route 5 in Dummerston. A trooper arrived at 10:32 p.m. and observed a male matching the description given riding a bicycle away from the scene. The trooper continued to the residence where the incident happened, and then pursued the male through the woods on foot. After investigation it was determined that Buck Mitchell, 28, of Brattleboro, had entered the vehicles of two victims and stole money. Mitchell was given a criminal citation for larceny from a vehicle and violation of conditions of release, and released to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division.
