WEST HARTFORD, CT — The West Hartford Police Department this week announced plans for a security footage sharing program in town.

Through the program, local residents and business owners can register their surveillance cameras to assist in solving crimes.

The program will be voluntary and the police would not be taking control of the cameras, officials said. Images would be used only if supplied by those who own the camera systems, officials said.
