The Pigman is coming! (Just a little later than expected.)
The Travel Channel has changed the premiere time for an upcoming segment on the Angola Pigman in a new series; it will start at 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, an hour later than had previously been reported. It repeats at 3 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12.
That’s the word from Lauren Gagliardi, the Buffalo native who is a development producer for Talos Films, which is producing the new six-episode series “Hometown Horror.”
“The Pigman of Angola,” which was named one of “15 places in Western New York sure to send shivers down your spine,” is kicking off the new series.
“We actually developed the series using this story,” wrote Gagliardi in an email. “Being from Buffalo, my brother told me the story and it grew from there. And I was lucky enough to come out and film some of the episode and as always Buffalo was a great, welcoming place to film this eerie story.”

Pigman is believed to haunt Holland Road in Angola, which is referred to as “Pigman Road” by local residents.
Here’s the Travel Channel summary of the episode: “Angola, a small town in upstate New York, is stalked by a horrific apparition called The Pigman. Rumored to be a disfigured butcher with a taste for blood, he's deeply interconnected with a deadly train accident that shook the town 150 years ago.”
A Travel Channel release explained “Hometown Horror” this way:
“Many white picket fence communities across America are gripped with tales of horror, mystery and intrigue that have lingered over these towns for centuries – dark forces haunting unassuming communities with stories of the undead, ghouls, monsters and things that go bump in the night. 'Hometown Horror' delves into these quiet communities to examine what is behind these stories and myths, and to shine a light on what may be lurking in the shadows of small-town America – such as the Pigman of Angola in New York, the hauntings of circus town Baraboo, Wisconsin, the blood-stained history of Perryville, Kentucky, and more.”
