Westport Coronavirus Update: 304 Confirmed Cases

The number of residents who have died as a result of the virus remained at 23 as of Wednesday.

WESTPORT, CT — The number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Westport as of Wednesday totaled 304, and the number of residents who have died of complications from the virus remains at 23, according to state and local health officials. The total number of cases in town increased by three compared to the previous day.

Statewide, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases stood at 45,913, up only 14 cases from the day before, while the number of virus-related deaths rose by 10 to 4,287 over the same period, state health officials said.

On Tuesday, Connecticut passed the 400,000 mark for the number of COVID-19 tests administered, placing the state 10th per capita for tests conducted.

Westport Town Hall and other government facilities remain open under restrictions or on a limited basis. Many recreational facilities are open but with restrictions.
