Brush Fire In Pauma Valley Sparked By Phone Repair: Cal Fire
Crews stopped the spread of the blaze by late afternoon Monday.
PAUMA VALLEY CA – A contractor repairing telephone lines in a rural area near Pauma Valley Country Club accidentally sparked a brush fire that scorched about 15 hilly open acres Monday.
The blaze near the intersection of state Route 76 and Pauma Valley Drive erupted shortly before 1:30 p.m., according to Cal Fire.
Within 90 minutes, firefighters were making good progress toward subduing the flames, the state agency reported. The crews had the spread of the blaze halted by late afternoon.
