CO.LAB And Proof Host Fourth Annual Consumer Goods Accelerator

Program Is Accepting Applications Through June 16

CO.LAB and Proof Incubator are partnering once again to host the Consumer Goods Accelerator in the greater Chattanooga area, and are accepting applications now through June 16. The 10-week program, focused on supporting early-stage packaged goods companies with an emphasis on food and beverage, launches July 27.

"We are thrilled to be partnering with Proof to execute this program aimed at rapidly accelerating companies in the consumer goods space” said Lindsey Cox, CEO of CO.LAB. “Having graduated over 30 companies from the program to date, we know the Consumer Goods Accelerator produces real results.”

In the accelerator, participants will engage in weekly group sessions and one-on-one meetings with Proof’s team of coaches and CO.LAB’s network of mentors. A network of industry experts from across the country will also be involved in the program, which will provide unique industry insights and connections. Major topics covered in the accelerator include finance, operations, branding, marketing, distribution, and fundraising.

While the program launched in 2018, it has been expanded and modified to meet the current needs of up-and-coming brands, according to Proof co-founder Mike Robinson. Many of these changes were driven by the unique challenges that companies faced in the pandemic, he said.

“For many in this space, 2020 taught us that you have to be ready to adapt your business model—especially in how you distribute your product—in a flash,” said Mr. Robinson. “We’ve shaped this program to help founders and operators not only navigate challenges they now face but pave the path for sustainability and growth in the long term.”

Since 2018, the program has served more than 30 entrepreneurs in the Chattanooga region and across the Southeast. Local alumni include Alchemy Spice, Sequatchie Cove Creamery, Chef and His Wife, among others.

The program is free to participants, thanks to the program’s partnership with CO.LAB. The format for the program will be a mix of virtual and in-person. Any company interested in applying can find more information and the application link at colab.co/consumer.
