NE Health District Adds 70 COVID-19 Cases But No Deaths On Monday

Clarke County added 24 cases, and Oconee County added seven.

The Georgia Department of Public Health reported 70 new Confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Northeast Health District on Monday, moving the seven-day rolling average of added cases to a new high of 89.1 cases per day, up from 83.1 on Sunday.

Clarke County again led the 10-county District by adding 24 new cases on Monday. Clarke County has added 248 new cases in the last seven days.

Oconee County added seven new cases on Monday and has added 42 new cases in the last week.

The Northeast Health District did not add any new deaths in the Department of Public Health Daily Status Report on Monday and has not added any deaths since June 26. The seven-day rolling average remains 0.0.

The Department of Community Health did not add any new deaths at the area’s 25 long-term care facilities listed in the Long-Term Care Facility Report on Monday.

The Department of Community Health reported one death at a Jackson County facility on June 30, but that death has not been included in the Department of Public Health Report to this point.

The Department of Community Health did report the addition of three cases of COVID-19 among staff at those 25 facilities in its Monday report.

The Georgia Emergency Management Agency did not issue reports on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, but in its Monday report it listed 56 critical care beds in use in area hospitals, up from 51 in the last report on Thursday. Fourteen beds are reported as available.
