Rumors of a Cadbury Crème-flavored Frappuccino have been circulating the web for weeks, and so in the spirit of Easter I decided to investigate. Does the menu item actually exist? Does it taste anything like the milk chocolate, crème-filled sweet? I put my journalistic expertise (and taste buds) to the test.

The Starbucks Secret Menu website—which is run by fans and not the company—shared a recipe for the spring-inspired Frapp. And while I'm not entirely sure if anyone affiliated with the coffee roaster had any hand in creating it, your local chain probably has the ingredients to whip one up. I arrived at Sbux ready to sample and ordered the seasonal drink with confidence. Surely, someone had requested it before? NOPE. My barista was clueless, and as I whipped out my phone to rattle off the recipe, she polled the staff. Not a single one had heard of it.

Here's the thing: The Starbucks Secret Menu is a trend—this isn't new. In fact, several of the chain's "secret" items have since been added to the everyday menu. Remember the Pink Drink? But many—if not all—of the recipes are submitted by customers. So, yeah, you'll probably need to school your barista until the drink gains a bit more popularity.

So, how does one order it? According to the Starbucks Secret Menu, you'll want to request a Java Chip Frappuccino. But obviously, there's more. Here are the add-ons:

  • Add Frappuccino Roast. 1 pump for tall, 2 for grande—you get the picture.
  • Add Vanilla syrup. 1 pump for tall, 1.5 pumps for grande, 2 pumps for venti.
  • Add Caramel syrup. 1/2 pump for a tall or grande, 1 pump for venti.
  • Add vanilla bean powder. 2 scoops for tall, and so on.

Now for the review. *Drum roll, please*

...It was tasty. Seriously, it was delicious. But did it taste like a Cadbury Crème? Meh. One co-worker suggested the egg's consistency was missing from the Frapp and another roasted it for its mud-like appearance. Will the Frappuccino satisfy your Cadbury craving? Maybe not. But it's still worth a try!
