Put on the OC soundtrack and dig out your sassiest Supré outfit: it's time to revisit your teenage years.
More specifically, it's time to revisit the teenage years of Erin Hutchinson: a Melbourne comedian who spent her high school years writing a teen-drama novel, recording pop songs in her bedroom and dreaming of the day she would finally have the courage to approach boys. With a masterful command of the stage and a warm, energetic presence, Hutchinson delves into the pain and the identity crises that come with being a teenager, and explores what it was like to grapple with her sexuality in a time when queer voices in pop culture were few and far between.
Last year, Hutchinson debuted Please Come Closer (Don't Touch Me) at the Melbourne Fringe Festival to huge acclaim. If you missed out on this breathlessly funny slice of teenage nostalgia, then make sure you catch her at MICF; she's on for just three Monday nights.
