Jefferson City, TN lands 300 new jobs with Oshkosh Corp. welding, fab plant

Fortune 500 company Oshkosh Corporation announced plans Thursday to locate a welding and fabrication operation in Jefferson County, Tennessee.

The company will occupy the former John Deere plant located in Jefferson City and they plan to create up to 300 new jobs in three years, according to the report from Gov. Bill Haslam's office.

They expect to have that 500,000 square foot facility operational by 2019.

Oshkosh designs and constructs heavy-duty trucks that are used in the military and in the public service sector, according to company data. Their brands include JLG, Pierce, IMT and Frontline Communications.
