A woman who disappeared Thursday is home safe and it seems her husband has an Uber driver to thank.

Shizu Huestis, 64, went missing from her South Burlington home Thursday morning. Her husband was especially worried because she has advanced Alzheimer's disease.

Officers from South Burlington, Colchester, Shelburne, UVM campus police and neighbors searched a 3-mile radius around the Adams Court home.

Finally, an Uber driver who had seen the news reports saw Shizu looking through some windows. Another neighbor recognized her and told the driver where Shizu lived and he brought her home.

Shizu's husband, Richard, says she has disappeared like this before. He says it has been tough but they're trying to keep their spirits up.

"Every day is a learning experience, sometimes every hour. But now we have to keep track of people as well as we keep track of our dog," Richard Huestis said.

Richard gave the Uber driver some money for bringing Shizu home safe. He says he's grateful to everyone who helped look for his wife.

Richard says the family is now getting additional help to take care of his wife.
