The Iowa State Patrol said one person has died in a two-vehicle accident. The accident occurred on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. on Highway 30 at State Street in Ames. According to Iowa State Patrol, both vehicles were headed westbound on Highway 30 in the right lane. Nancy Dean, 83, of Boone, came to a near stop for unknown reason. Taylor McIntire, 22, of Boone, was driving behind Dean and could not avoid a collision. The patrol said Dean's car came to a stop in the median of the highway. She was transported to Mary Greeley Medical Center and did not survive her injuries. McIntire came to a stop in the north side ditch and was taken to Mary Greeley Medical Center with minor injuries, according to troopers.Check back to KCCI for more information.
