Weather shift: Rain will give way to sun, 90 degrees by mid-week

A mostly-dry weekend will precede at least a few days of hot weather next week.

Father’s Day will likely be sunny with highs near 80.

KIRO 7 Meteorologist Nick Allard tells Seattle’s Morning News on KIRO Radio it will be at least 85 degrees on Monday.

By Tuesday, we will see temperatures in the upper-80s to lower 90s.

Ditto for Wednesday.

The outlook for the summer is looking warmer and drier than normal. There is as much as a 50-60 percent chance to be warmer and 30-50 percent chance to be drier, according to the National Weather Service.

In Seattle, there is about a 50 percent chance to see above-normal temperatures through August, according to NOAA data.

The official start to summer is Thursday, June 21.
