Here are the latest local updates on how the coronavirus outbreak is impacting Hillsborough:

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — The new coronavirus outbreak in New Jersey and across the nation is having vast impacts in Hillsborough, including the closure of schools and many businesses.

The number of cases of the illness caused by the virus, known as COVID-19, continue to rise and additional measures and closures continue to be announced.

As of Monday there are 35 total cases of COVID-19 and one death-related to the virus. There are also a total of 349 cases in Somerset County as of Monday.

Gov. Phil Murphy said New Jersey saw it's largest one-day total of cases and deaths connected to the coronavirus outbreak on Monday. The numbers rose sharply after eight people died at a nursing home in New Jersey due to the coronavirus, officials announced on Monday. All schools in Hillsborough will remain closed through at least April 17 in response to the new coronavirus outbreak, state officials said. MORE.
