 5 Nashoba Valley Technical High Instructors Retire

Five instructors, who had been working at the school since the early 2000s, have retired. Here's a look at what they did.

WESTFORD, MA — Five longtime instructors at Nashoba Valley Technical High School retired at the close of the 2019-2020 school year after distinguished careers at the school. The school's Dan Philips submitted bios and the Patch wishes them well:

Robert Brazeau taught plumbing and heating since 2005. Brazeau is an active member of the Massachusetts chapter of the Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors of America and teaches PHCC night-school courses. He has chaired the town of Douglas’ Board of Health and petitioned the board to allow vocational-technical schools to pull permits for construction projects. Brazeau is also a breeder of bulldogs.

Wendy Hood taught Special Education and English since 2001. She was known as a caring compassionate teacher and class adviser who always attended school events to support students. Hood is an avid gardener in her spare time.

Kathy Lamarre taught Special Education, Biology and Physical Education since 2004. She also served as the girls basketball coach and could always be seen at school plays, concerts, and sporting and recruitment events. Lamarre served as a mentor to challenging students and is a strong advocate for Nashoba Tech throughout the town of Westford.

Donna McMahon taught Cosmetology since 2004. She was active in all facets of the school, including as a longtime adviser of the senior class, an adviser for SkillsUSA and a volleyball coach. She initiated the Dress for Success program at Nashoba Tech and was known as the “queen of fundraisers.” McMahon is an avid golfer and serves on the Planning Board in Lowell.

Francis Zentgraf, known to students as “Frandpa,” was a Culinary Arts teacher since 2011 and taught at Keefe Regional Technical School. He was adviser for the Epicurean Club and coached the golf and baseball teams. Zentgraf is a member of the American Culinary Federation and led students to several awards in the Taste of Nashoba and Taste of Middlesex competitions. Zentgraf is a car and road-trip enthusiast when not teaching.
