  • AND THAT’S THAT!

Chelsea were eager to make amends of their embarrassing defeat last weekend against West Brom and boy did they do that.

The Blues were fast out the blocks and found themselves two up in 10 minutes thanks to their £62 million German Kai Havertz who got the first.

And then he assisted Christian Pulisic 1 minute and 42 seconds later for the second.

Kurt Zouma then made it three before the break setting himself as the top goal scoring defender this campaign after getting on the end of a delicious delivery whipped in by Mason Mount.

Roy Hodgson’s half-time message must have been clear because the Eagles came out in the second 45 with a bit of grit between their teeth.

And it paid off when Christian Benteke was left unmarked in the Chelsea penalty area to head the ball past Mendy giving Palace a life-line.

But all hopes were shattered when Pulisic popped up to double his tally only 13 minutes from the full-time whistle.

Thank you for staying tuned this evening, it’s been a pleasure.

Have a good weekend and make sure to check out more live blogs tomorrow!

  • ROY'S RANT

The Palace boss was not happy at all with how his players performed on the pitch and he wasn’t scared express his feelings during his post-match press conference.

Hodgson started off by saying: “Well I certainly don’t want to take anything away from them because they were good throughout, in every respect.

“Not only was the quality of their football and their attacking play good but they were much better than us in the first half at winning the ball back.

“I thought our first half performance was nowhere near good enough and nowhere near the performance that I believe the team is capable of and I think the team probably agree with me.

“Luckily at half-time we voiced our concerns and I thought in the second half we did come out and make a much better game of it.

“Albeit, that a 0-3, it would of taken some sort of miracle if we were going to come back and even get a point from the game.”

  • TUCHEL'S TAKEOVER

In continuation of the Chelsea boss, Tuchel is yet to taste defeat away from home since becoming the new head coach.

However he has four more games to go to match the record of Felipe Scolari.

  • TUCHEL TALK

Thomas Tuchel said: “We were excellent. Very hungry, very aggressive, good ball possession, a lot of recoveries in the last third that led to a lot of chances.

“After 35 minutes, we dropped a little bit in precision and we got a little bit sloppy and continued a little bit like this at the beginning of the second half.

“But very good reaction after the goal we conceded.

“Very strong, very courageous. We had a lot of chances, scored again and created a lot chances but didn’t concede a lot of chances.”

  • FULL TIME STATS

But overall, the Blues were dominant in every aspect of the field.

  • KAI HAVERTZ' ANALYSIS

Kai Havertz had a good game but he was left a little disappointed in his finishing and he briefly discussed the difficulties he has faced in recent months.

The Chelsea forward said: “Yes of course I am happy but I think the most important thing is that we won.

“After the 5-2 defeat, it was a good game from us. I think we could score more goals but I think we can be happy but we move on and keep going on Tuesday.

“In my position you always want to score and I think in the last few months it wasn’t easy and I didn’t have many chances.

“Today I got some chances, I think I could have scored one or two goals more but of course I am happy and we are happy with the result.”

  • CAN'T SHAKE OFF THE BLUES

Crystal Palace have failed to record a victory in their last nine Premier League home fixtures against Chelsea.

    89. Well that was embarrassing.

Chelsea put another sweeping move together which ended up with Ben Chilwell firing the ball right across the face of the 6-yard-box.

  • PALACE 1-4 CHELSEA

  • PALACE 1-4 CHELSEA

    84. Azpilicueta has not given Wilfried Zaha a moments rest this game and has really frustrated the winger.

  • FANTASTIC FOUR

Christian Pulisic's second and Chelsea's fourth. The three points should be in the bag for the visitors.

  •

Chelsea played another pretty pattern of football to carve open the Palace back-line who had pushed on trying to grab the second.

Mason Mount found Reece James on the wing who then whipped the ball across the box begging to be hit home.

And Christian Pulisic who was busting a gut to get into the box, got to the ball ahead of the returning Palace defenders and bundled it into the back of the net.

The ball eventually fell to Mason Mount who's had no option but to shoot, however, his shot went high and wide of the mark.

  • PALACE 1-3 CHELSEA

    74. The Blues have done well to slow the tempo of the game right down not allowing Palace to use any momentum from their first goal.

  • CHRISTIAN'S CALLING

Crystal Palace Christian Benteke has directly been involved in seven goals and two assists against Chelsea which is a higher tally than any other team in the league.

  • PALACE 1-3 CHELSEA

    68. GUAITA AGAIN!

Havertz did well to wriggle away from the Palace defenders before letting fly.

But the Eagles goalkeeper kept his side in this match with a big right hand.
