Tool lets consumers design bedroom, dining furniture online on website

HIGH POINT – At the Oct. 13-17 High Point Market, Amish furniture manufacturer Simply Amish is launching a custom dining and bedroom app designed to let consumers design their own furniture online.

Consumers can access the Style Your Own design tool by visiting www.simplyamish.com or visiting a Simply Amish dealer’s website. They also can access it through a proprietary kiosk placed in dealers’ stores. While they can configure the products online, they will have to order and purchase items at their nearest Simply Amish dealer.

In the dining realm, the tool lets consumers choose table sizes, table shapes, top edges, style of leaf, style of leg as well as pedestal or trestle style. They also can choose wood or paint stains and other surface treatments such as distressing.

In bedroom they can choose their headboard size and panel style and trim as well as foot board legs along with wood or paint stains and other surface treatments. For pieces such as dressers and nightstands, they can choose case sizes and drawer configurations, drawer front and top styles, leg styles and finish treatments.

Of the new feature, company co-founder and owner Kevin Kauffman said “Imagine a digital sales associate that not only shows customers all the features and options available 24/7, but that builds the piece before the consumers’ eyes. A consumer can create their dream piece on their laptop without leaving their house.”

“With our ability to customize almost anything we currently offer, or create something from scratch, it could be argued the entire 592-page catalog is Style Your Own,” he said. “The great thing about the SYO app is that it gives consumers and Simply Amish dealers a way to take certain pieces and visualize what their changes will look like, print it out and not need a custom quote.”

At market, Simply Amish shows in space D-1102 of the International Home Furnishings Center.
