Two Whitefish Bay Schools Report Coronavirus Infections: Report

Students at Whitefish Bay Middle School and Cumberland Elementary School have tested positive for the virus, according to a report.

WHITEFISH BAY, WI — School officials in Whitefish Bay have taken steps to quarantine and additionally disinfect two schools following reports that students in two schools tested positive for COVID-19.

According to a JSOnline report, students at Whitefish Bay Middle School and Cumberland Elementary School have tested positive for the virus. Four Whitefish Bay Middle School students will quarantine, Superintendent John Thomsen said in the report.

Under the plan, students started the year with in-person learning at schools coupled with synchronous virtual learning.

The board also approved a fully-virtual option for parents who do did want their children to return to school.

The plan also called for flexibility if COVID-19 conditions force the North Shore Health Department to adjust their public health recommendations to account for an outbreak.

Under the blended schedule, about 50 percent of all students are in school each day, with students assigned to either Cohort Group A — in school on Mondays and Tuesdays — or Cohort Group B — in school on Thursdays and Fridays.
