A pregnant woman was stabbed repeatedly Tuesday in New York.WPIX reports it happened just after midnight in the Melrose section of the Bronx. Liv Abreu, 30, was stabbed repeatedly in the chest and stomach. WPIX reports the woman was stabbed at least 30 times, but other outlets report she was stabbed seven times. She was rushed to Lincoln Hospital in critical condition where her unborn baby died. Abreu's boyfriend, Oscar Alvarez, 30, turned himself in to police later the same day. The victim's neighbors say Abreu was excited about being pregnant and that she and her boyfriend had lived in the building for more than a year. The New York Daily News reports Abreu filled her social media pages with pictures of her sonogram and her baby bump. She was reportedly about seven months along. She said she was having a girl and captioned one picture "my little human.""She was so excited about the baby, both of them were," said neighbor Gloria Lambert. "This was going be their first. She was showing. She seemed so happy."Juan Abreu, the victim's brother, said doctors expect her to make a full recovery. "The physical wounds will heal," her older sibling said. "The mental wounds will also heal at some point, but it will probably take longer. She's positive. My sister, she's a warrior."Alvarez is charged with attempted murder, assault with intent to cause serious physical injury, assault and weapons possession.Alvarez's attorney said the man has no criminal record and worked as a manager in a local store.
