Lake Elsinore Man, 45, Arrested, Accused Of Sex With Girl, 13

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A 45-year-old Lake Elsinore man was arrested Tuesday at his Los Angeles workplace for an alleged, four-year span of sexual assaults of a female, 13, according to authorities.

Edwin Sangalang faces approximately 200 counts of felony sexual assault with the minor from Lake Elsinore, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said.

Deputies launched an investigation after being notified Monday of an "inappropriate sexual relationship" that began approximately four years ago involving the victim and the suspect, who moved to Lake Elsinore within the past year and, during the four-year timeframe, also was a resident of Perris and Chino Hills, the agency said.

Officials did not disclose how Sangalang and the child knew each other.

Sangalang was booked at Murrieta's Cois Byrd Detention Center with $1 million bail.
