2nd Lawsuit Filed in Crash That Killed St. Charles Teen

The fatal crash occurred in September 2017 and Jennifer Findahl is accused of driving under the influence, causing the crash.

KANE COUNTY, IL — A Geneva man has filed a lawsuit against a 20-year-old woman who allegedly drove while under the influence of anti-anxiety pills and marijuana, seeking damages for injuries sustained during the September 2017 downstate crash, the Daily Herald reports. The passenger, Jacob Keen, filed the lawsuit against Findahl, claiming she was negligent and caused the collision.

The crash claimed the life of another passenger, Eweart "Daine" Rice-Picasso, of St. Charles, and the family of the 2017 Geneva High School graduate filed a lawsuit against Jennifer L. Findahl, 20, in 2018.

Findahl, of the 3100 block of Husking Peg Lane in Geneva, is charged in Livingston County with aggravated driving under the influence. Her trial is set to start on Sept. 20. The collision occurred when Findahl drove a Cadillac Escalade the wrong way on an exit ramp and was hit by a semitrailer on Sept. 16, 2017, according to an earlier Daily Herald article.
