When is Amazon Prime Day 2024? July Confirmed for Summer Sale
Here's everything we know so far
It's official: Amazon Prime Day will return in July for what will be the retailer's 10th annual summer sale. While the exact dates are still under wraps, the event will once again welcome an extensive choice of bargains, deals, discounts and offers across an ever-growing list of brands.
So, what exactly is Amazon Prime Day 2024? How do you take part? And is it even worth paying attention to? In this guide, we'll answer all that and more. But first, the when and the how long. Based on the 2023 event, we'd expect this year's Prime Day sale to fall during the middle of the month and to last for 48 hours – provided it follows the same format.
If you're tempted by a new set of adjustable dumbbells or perhaps upgrading your fitness tracker, it might therefore be worth holding out to see what deals there are come July. In any case, bookmark this page and leading up to the sale we'll bring you the best early deals. Once the event officially kicks off, we'll then keep it regularly ticking over with the very best deals, all verified by our team of shopping editors.
When is Amazon Prime Day 2024?
Amazon has confirmed that Prime Day 2024 will happen in July. The exact dates are still unknown, but should the format follow 2023's event, which ran from Tuesday 11 July to Wednesday 12 July, it's likely to once again run for 48 hours and land during the second or third week of the month.
What is Amazon Prime Day?
Amazon Prime Day is an online shopping event that's exclusive to Prime members. During the sale, there's thousands of products on offer across everything from Amazon devices to tech, homeware, fitness gear, gardening tools, beauty products and more.
How to Take Part in the Amazon Prime Day Sale
If you're already an Amazon Prime member, you don't need to do anything. Simply log into your Amazon account during the event and you'll automatically gain access to all the deals on offer. If you don't have a Prime membership, you can sign up for £8.99 per month, or £95 per year if you pay annually, to unlock access to the sale. Amazon also currently offers a 30-day trial to new customers, meaning if you take out a membership just before the event, you can cancel it once the sale ends without incurring any costs.
Why It's Worth Signing Up to Amazon Prime
On top of unlocking Amazon's member-exclusive events, including Prime Day, Black Friday, the Spring Sale and Big Deal Days Sale, you'll also gain access to a host of other benefits. Here are a few of the best:
- Unlimited one-day delivery at no additional cost.
- Same day delivery available at no extra cost in selected postcodes.
- 30-minute early access to Lightning Deals during sales events.
- Access to Prime Video where you can stream thousands of movies and TV shows.
- Access to Amazon Prime Music, with over 100 million songs.
How to Find the Best Deals
There are always thousands of deals and discounts on offer during online sales events, but Amazon Prime Day is arguably the easiest to spot and verify genuine offers. Using the CamelCamelCamel web plug-in, you can view the entire price history of each product to see whether it has been cheaper at any other time. It's not perfect, but it should give you a good indication of a deal's authenticity.
Another thing you should always do is check other sites where a product you like is stocked. If it's cheaper or just as cheap elsewhere, it may not be a genuine deal.
What Deals Will There Be?
Prime Day 2024 will see products discounted across pretty much all Amazon categories. Last year, we saw genuinely good offers on things like massage guns, headphones, sports supplements, running watches, home gym equipment, beard trimmers, skincare products and a lot more.
