In line with its Corporate Social Responsibility programme 'Wagib " , Gulf International Bank (GIB) recently donated a bus to the Bahrain Down Syndrome Society (BDSS).
GIB CEO Abdulaziz Al Helaissi presented the bus to the Society Chairman Jehad Al Zain in a ceremony held at the society's premises. The vehicle will be used to transport the children from their homes to the centre and back.
BDSS and its Down Syndrome Care Centre provide direct and indirect support to individuals, their parents and their families. It also works towards the development of local services available to individuals in the fields of health, psychology, education and social skills.
Additionally, the society operates an information centre supporting research and studies of issues related to the syndrome. The society finds ways to overcome obstacles in the education, rehabilitation and employment of youth with Down Syndrome.

Being a French based company, it broaden the linguistic aptitudes of the staff with English and French basic lessons, internally provided within the property.

Sheraton Bahrain Hotel holds team building
A first ever team building event was held recently for Sheraton Bahrain Hotel associates spanning two days. The team building sessions was conducted at Al Bander Resort where 85 associates attended on the first day and 83 associates on the second day.
Activities included painting and blind folded associates building sand castles with only the guidance of verbal communication from their instructor. The teams also had to build boats using only cardboard boxes, plastic sheeting and duct tape and then participated in a rowing race.
The aim of this event was to better understand the importance of communication, planning, strategising, and building good team relationship and at the same time enjoy the outdoor weather.
