Newtown's Favorite Restaurants: Patch Reader Submissions

NEWTOWN, PA — Much like the lunch rush at State Street Kitchen or the dinner hour at Rocco's, the COVID-19 pandemic has been unrelenting. Cafes, bars and restaurants have been forced to adapt in ways previously unimaginable, offering curbside pickup and contact-free delivery to ensure the safety of their customers.

Back in November, we asked our readers to vote for their favorite Newtown business in 2020, paying special attention to entrepreneurs and mom-and-pop shops that have gone above and beyond in a tumultuous year.

State Street Kitchen

"This restaurant is Newtown's version of Cheers. The owner greets you with a smile and usually by name. The food is great and special orders are never a problem. I know this because I am a picky eater. With the cold weather coming I know this is the place to always find a great soup. All are homemade." - Barbara B.

"Great food, very friendly service, and will try deliver food according to your particular taste. They are also very price friendly. Jake's has another restaurant in Richboro. On this time of the pandemic they have socially distanced their seating arrangements. The restaurant is extremely clean. They take very good care of the seating area and restrooms. They have sanitizer stations in strategic areas. My husband and I are senior citizens and I have no worries eating at Jake's." - Marilyn P.
