Cherry Hill Residents Among 42 New Camden County Coronavirus Case

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Four Cherry Hill residents were among 42 new cases of the coronavirus that were announced in Camden County on Thursday.

As of Thursday, there are 1,194 cases of the coronavirus in Cherry Hill with 162 confirmed deaths. In Camden County, there are 9,052 cases and 549 confirmed deaths.

The new Cherry Hill cases announced on Thursday included two women in their 20s, a man in his 20s and a boy older than 10. Trace investigations are underway in all new cases.

“We learned today that unemployment claims in New Jersey have reached their lowest level since the pandemic first forced business closures in March. This is welcome news for the thousands of Camden County residents who have faced employment interruptions, but we know there is still a lot of work to do,” Camden Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli Jr. said. “The best way to get people back to work is to control the spread of this virus so that more businesses can open, and more people feel safe visiting them. We can achieve that by wearing masks, social distancing, and working with contact tracers when you’ve been exposed or diagnosed with the disease.”

According to the Camden County Department of Health, there are 1,340 confirmed cases among residents at the county's long-term care facilities, with 311 deaths. Another 520 cases were reported among staff members with three deaths.
