Douglas D. Jessen, age 87, passed away August 20, 2020, at St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck ND. Cremation has taken place. There has been no funeral and a memorial service will be planned in the future when family members can travel.

Doug and his twin brother Don were born in Jamestown ND on January 10, 1933, to Chris and Reka (Beckman) Jessen. In 1950 their family moved to Sebeka MN.

Doug Jessen and Charlotte Stephenson were married on August 24, 1952, in Sebeka. They moved to Fargo ND and then to Bismarck. Their family grew to include 4 children, a stillborn infant son, and 3 grandchildren.

Doug is survived by his wife Charlotte Jessen; daughter Patricia Jessen; son Philip Jessen; grandson Nicholas Douglas Jessen, (all from Bismarck/Mandan); daughter Debra (Todd Strand) Jessen, and granddaughters Natasha Marie Jessen Docker and Clara Anne Jessen Docker (all from Minneapolis MN); brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Stan and Betty Stephenson (Park Rapids MN), Lester Stephenson (Moorhead MN), Dorothy Jessen (Ocoee FL); as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and their children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by sons Jeffery Jessen and infant James Jessen (Bismarck); parents Chris and Reka Jessen (Mandan ND); parents-in-law LC Chuck and Effie Stephenson (Sebeka), siblings and siblings-in-law Don and Marian Jessen (Minot ND), Lorraine and Louis Anderberg (Stanley ND), Carol and Melvin Vincent (Chicago IL), Frederick Jessen (Frederick MD), Verna and Irvin Funk (Nimrod MN), Florence and Sid Fallstone (Castle Rock WA) and Bev Stephenson (Moorhead MN).
