Killer(s) Of Former Santa Cruz Man Sought: $50K Reward Announced

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect(s) involved in the killing of a former Santa Cruz County resident, and a $50,000 reward has been announced.

The body of Spencer Hodgson, 31, was found April 8 around 9 a.m. near Yreka Walker Road in the Klamath River area. The Siskiyou County forensic pathologist confirmed Hodgson died from a gunshot wound that was not by his own hand.

Before his death, Hodgson had relocated to the Klamath River area but had long-term ties in the Santa Cruz area, police said.

A $50,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect(s) responsible for Hodgson's killing.

Police say any information could be important to the case. Forensic analysis of evidence is underway and may yield additional information critical in the case, police said.

“There is a chance someone in the Santa Cruz County area knows something about this case," Siskiyou County Sheriff Jon Lopey said. "Any information about Spencer’s activities prior to the April 8, 2019 incident, even of a minor nature, and any other leads about this homicide could be pivotal in this case."
