Ronald Mohr, 82, born in Jamestown, N.Y. to Doris and John Mohr. Beloved husband of 60 years to Laura Mohr (nee Jones, Bemus Point); father of Jerry (Alison), Derek (Elizabeth) and Heidi (Dan) died Monday, May 30, 2022.
He is survived by siblings: Jane Schell (Ormond Beach, Fla.), Norma Watson (Flagler Beach, Fla. and Maple Springs), Janice Spitz (Holly Hill, Fla.), Greg Mohr (Amherst) and Melanie Folts (Louisburg, N.C.); and grandchildren: Shawn, Cheyenne, Charlotte, Grace, Eli and Katerine.
Ron was graduated from Jamestown High school and Grove City College before working as a chemical and then mechanical engineer in Wheatfield, N.Y., for nearly all of his career. He retired from Carborundum Company. Despite being born deaf, Ron loved music, and with the aid of bone conduction hearing aids, he played banjo and fiddle with the Niagara Frontier Fiddle Club for many years. He was a life member of the North Amherst Fire Company.
A (very informal) memorial service will be held at the Vikings Lake Park in Maple Springs at the big pavilion on Saturday, Aug. 6, starting at 3 p.m.
