This week at the Tanana Valley State Fair, art from all ages from around the community is on display.

The art on display shows a variety of different styles, such as traditional mediums, sculptures, dolls, sewing projects, quilts, botanicals and more. There are some especially advanced pieces from the junior division. Though exhibitions have been noticeably reduced due to a low submission rate.

Bonnie Caley, the superintendent of knitting and crocheting at the Tanana Valley State Fair commented on how she got to work such a creative job.

"I've always loved the fair to begin with, when you're working you don't have much time, I couldn't really volunteer for the fair until I retired. And then I was like oh, yeah!" Said Caley.

She's also states that when the juniors graduate out of the juniors division, she hopes for greater encouragement to have them continue to submit pieces in the adult categories.

The Tanana Valley State Fair will run until the eleventh and during the time, the submissions will be available for public viewing.
